Hello! I'm Dr. Abby Curiel. I grew up in Crystal Lake, IL and recently moved to the Aurora area to be closer to family. I've always loved animals and currently have 4 rescue cats (Dexter, Benny, Winnie, and Joey) and a rescued 6 year old yellow lab named Lucy. Although I have a dog, I'm a cat person at heart. In my spare time, I love to travel, do needlepoint crafts, go to the movies, try new restaurants, and hang out with friends. I have a goal to one day see all the national parks and so far I have seen 12 of them! 

I began my journey to become a Veterinarian by attending the University of Minnesota for my Bachelor's in Biology. I took a few years off of school and worked in a veterinary hospital as a receptionist and worked my way up to technician. I went on to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 and have been in general practice since then.  I am passionate about dentistry, exotic animal medicine, and client education. In addition to seeing dogs and cats, I also see small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hedgehogs, rats, hamsters, chinchillas, etc), reptiles, and small birds. My goal is always to strengthen the human-animal bond no matter the species and to help people provide the best life for their pets.
